Astramaria Rodriguez Irizarry. Born 1956 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Attended Dr.Luchetti Art High School. Was awarded first prize In one of their art competitions. Assisted renowned painters Juan Balossi and Alvarez O’Neil in rendition of 150’ x 40’ foot murals for Pan-American games. Attended printing classes at Taller Boricua, Art student’s League of New York under Ted Seth Jacobs . Also took silkscreen classes at The Lower Eastside Printshop.While painting portraits on T-Shirts in Central Park, was commissioned to Design T-Shirts for Greenpeace Organization. Worked as an Art Instructor for the Day Care Council of New York where coordinated Elementary School children Art Exhibits Enrolled into The New School of Design, majored in Graphic Design under Mara Kurtz. Also took classes in Multimedia Design and Photography. Participated in a mural design contest for the M.T.A. and finished an Honoree.
